Frequency

I’m asking Chat to analyze inclusions of media and advertising in our song set. Because there are so few, I decided to do a bit of a test on Controlled Vocabularies and define this one from the ground up, letting Chat decide on the “type” for our first pass, and then reviewing to evaluate/tidy up for future passes. In the background, I was focused on the mention of The New York Times in “Stayin’ Alive” so my head was in a very specific space.

Chat was given this definition of “Media”

• Media can serve many purposes, including education, entertainment, information sharing, persuasion, advertising, marketing, or public relations.
• Any platform or channel used to communicate, distribute, or frame messages and information.
• Includes mass media (TV, radio), print (newspapers, posters, pamphlets), digital (social media, websites), and symbolic media (films, photos, visual art).

I’m charmed (and informed) by it’s inclusion of “The Grapevine” and “A handwritten note” as “Media”.
